Our new house - The ground breaking ceremony

This is the first picture of the new construction of our house. Symbolicly and mostly for fun we performed a small ground breaking ceremony.

Our new house - The digging of the foundation

Big equipment is being used to dig the basement of our house. Like a lot of other pictures this was taken during Claus' lunch break. Picture was taken on March 8, 2000.

Our new house - The pouring of the basement walls

The basement walls where poured in one setting to avoid any cracks in the walls. The concrete trucks lined up and ready to dump the concrete. Picture was taken on March 14, 2000.

Our new house - Men at work. The pouring of the basement walls

A worker balances on the basement wall forms while he is guiding the concrete flow. Picture was taken on March 14, 2000

Our new house - The finished basement walls

After the concrete of the basement walls has dried and the forms where removed. Picture was taken on March 17, 2000.

Our new house - The sold sign

Realtor sign, sold sign, electrical box and house number are quite important and can't miss at the construction site. Picture was taken on March 11, 2000

Our new house - The foundation

Claus is inspecting the foundation. Since it was still pretty cool the concrete was covered with straw to protect it from the cold a little. Picture was taken on March 11, 2000.
