    Red Set

This is a set I made for a friend. The booties are made from the "stay-on booties" pattern that I have seen at several places on the web. I made up the hat on my own as I went by using the approximate dimensions of 11" diameter, 6-7" tall. Then I added the cute pompon. I love how quickly knitting these went. The yarn I used was a Mexican acrylic I bought at Hobby Lobby for about $1.29, I think. The skein is wound with three strands together, but these three strands are not spun together, if that makes any sense. I just held all three strands together and knit with all three at the same time. It worked a lot better than I expected. The final product was a very nice, soft fabric. I will be using this yarn again, as it is inexpensive, soft, and comes in a bunch of wonderful colors. I'll have to look up the name of this yarn and add that here.
