Family Niesen - XP Tip: Lock Computer

When leaving the computer, especially at work, you may want to password protect the computer so that nobody can see the screen or use the computer without having to shutdown or logout. (It is assumed that password authentication on XP has already been enabled)

Keyboard Shortcut:

Hold down the Windows key and L key simultaneously.

Shortcut (file):

For the location (sometimes also called target) of the shortcut specify:

  %windir%\System32\rundll32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation
